Communities of Practice are cohorts of job-alike leaders who share a similar Problem-of-Practice and a desire to systematically address this problem through a continuous improvement framework alongside regional thought partners. Communities will meet periodically throughout the school year with the support of facilitators. School and district leaders are encouraged to participate as teams to maximize LEA capacity building.

This community of practice addresses the issue of inequitable and often harmful grading practices and instead encourages teachers to ensure students learn and master state standards while growing their ability to see themselves as competent and successful learners.

Creating Equitable Practices in PBIS - A 21CSLA Community Of Practice and Book Study

Join us for five virtual sessions to complete an interactive book study of Creating Equitable Practices in PBIS: Growing a Positive School Climate for Sustainable Outcomes. This go-to resource guides educators on how to incorporate equitable practices in a PBIS framework.

The series will also cover these core concepts:
  • School-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (SWPBIS) and multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS)
  • Define equity and present methods for enhancing implementation practices through an equity mindset
  • Analysis of team structures and the evaluation of baseline data sources.

Join for a 4-part series centered on “closing the gap between good intentions and real change” where we will be reviewing Michelle MiJung Kim's "The Wake Up" and discussing policies and practices to transform schools so that they are inclusive and accepting of our LGBTQIA+ students and other historically marginalized groups within our community. Participants will receive a copy of the book. Michelle was a Keynote Speaker at MCOE’s 2023 All in for Equity.

Implementing Initiatives with Integrity - A Free 21CSLA Virutal CoP

Leadership can be lonely, but it doesn’t have to be! Join author and facilitator, Dr. Kim Wallace’s Community of Practice centered around her two books employing field tested strategies to successfully execute new school and district initiatives with integrity. Over the course of 12 collaborative and interactive sessions, Wallace will help participants infuse new initiatives responsibly and responsively into their organizations for lasting impact on student outcomes. There will be ample opportunities for discussion, inquiry, and application, personally customizable to a variety of organizational settings. A copy of Leading the Launch (2021) and Leading Through an Equity Lens (2023) will be provided for each attendee.

We will strive to support your system in creating a culture and environment where students have increased access to high quality mathematics instruction to create a positive foundation for their academic success.
 
Leading for Improvement is designed to prepare coaches and leaders who support site teams. Leaders will utilize continuous improvement methods to impact systemic change. Leading for Improvement sessions will provide professional learning aligned with LCFF Priority 2 and LCFF Priority 4.
