The Courtroom Journalist contest is a competition that allows students who are interested in writing the chance to participate in the Mock Trial Competition.

 

The courtroom journalist sits in the courtroom and watches the Mock Trial.  They report on the trial and create an article using journalism and newspaper formatting.  The article must be double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins.  The article can be no longer than two pages.

 

The Courtroom Journalist Contest is an individual contest.  The artist is able to win the Courtroom Journalist competition, regardless if their school’s Mock Trial team wins the competition or not.  Each school can enter up to three journalists.

The Courtroom Art Contest is a competition that allows students who are interested in art the change to participate in the Mock Trial competition.

 

The courtroom artist sits in the courtroom and watches the Mock Trial.  They sketch a scene from that trial.  The drawing must be on a horizontal, 11" x 14" paper.  The artist is asked to submit their work 5-10 minutes after the verdict is read.

 

The Courtroom Art Contest is an individual contest.  The artist is able to win the Courtroom Artist competition, regardless if their school's Mock Trial team wins the competition or not.  Each school may enter up to three artists.
